Tickets and Passes

All regular Festival screenings are $12 for adults and $10 for students (students must purchase tickets in person and present a valid student ID to receive discounted price).  We also have special matinee prices Monday – Friday before 5:00pm for $6.

Again this year we have our discounted sampler card.  The Ticket Sampler is available for purchase from any RiverRun box office and costs $108 (but is valued at $120).  The sampler card allows patrons to pick and choose what films and events they want to attend.  You can either use them to see one $12 film screening, go to the Opening Gala for $18, go to a $6 matinee or just bring a bunch of your friends with you and use the whole card.  The card will be punched by a RiverRun volunteer or box office staff member for whatever amount you choose to spend.

Box office information

From April 7-17, tickets for all films and events may be purchased at the main Festival box offices.  We recommend you buy tickets in advance as many screenings will sell out.  However, you may still purchase day-of tickets, if there are any available.  If there is more than one hour before the start time of a screening you can purchase your tickets at either of the main festival box offices but if there is less than one hour before the start time of the screening you must purchase tickets directly at the venue where the screening is taking place.

Online ticket sales

To purchase tickets online, simply navigate to the page for the individual film you wish to attend and click on the “buy tickets” link next to a selected screening.

RiverRun encourages its patrons to purchase tickets as early as possible, as many screenings sell out before the Festival even starts.  In the event of a sold-out show, it is still sometimes possible to obtain a ticket by arriving at the screening venue an hour before the show starts and standing in the wait list line.  Approximately 15 minutes prior to the start of the films, if any empty seats remain, the theatre staff will begin selling tickets to the people in the wait list line on a first-come, first-served basis.

While RiverRun makes sure to extend every possible courtesy to our patrons, attending a film festival is not like attending a movie at the local multiplex.  Tickets holders must arrive and enter the theatre at least 15 minutes prior to each screening to secure their seats.  It is our objective to fill each and every seat during the festival so if seats are still empty after the 15 minute mark then they will be sold to the wait list line.  To ensure that you get a seat at a screening you have purchased a ticket for, we suggest arriving at the venue at least 45 minutes early.  In the event that you purchased a ticket and are turned away because the show is sold out, RiverRun will either refund the price of your ticket or exchange it for another ticket of equal value.
