Join RiverRun on 12/2 for a free screening of HEART OF THE MATTER, the second installment in the Our Right to Gaze film anthology series. HEART OF THE MATTER is an eclectic collection of shorts by Black women filmmakers.

Join RiverRun for a Retro Screening, Discussion, and book signing – 11/18
Mid-century modernism comes to the big screen when RiverRun Retro welcomes special guests Diane Baker and Foster Hirsch for a screening of THE BEST OF EVERYTHING from 1959.

RiverRun announces our first BIPOC Filmmaker Fellow – Fatima Wardy
Under a new initiative, RiverRun International Film Festival has named Sudanese filmmaker Fatima Wardy as its first BIPOC Fellow. RiverRun established the BIPOC Filmmaker Fellowship to uplift the work of Black, Indigenous, and other filmmakers of color.

Free Indie Lens Pop-Up Virtual Screening – Nov. 9
Join us on Nov 9th for our first Indie Lens Pop-up event of the season! The special event begins with a preview screening of the first episode in the three-part series, A Town Called Victoria. Following the hour-long screening, you will have the opportunity to participate in a virtual discussion with local subject-matter experts about civil rights, hate crimes, prejudice and resilience.

To further uplift the work of Black, Indigenous, and other filmmakers of color, RiverRun is establishing the BIPOC Filmmaker Fellowship.
RiverRun International Film Festival believes in the power of diverse voices to build community through film. Through our festival and year-round programs, we are responsible for our audiences and the stories we tell. Representation matters and our aim is to ensure it’s reflected in all our programming – across genders, ethnicities, sexual orientations, socioeconomic backgrounds, and ideological perspectives.
