About Riverrun

RiverRun International Film Festival is a non-profit media arts organization in Winston-Salem, NC, dedicated to the role of cinema as a conduit of powerful ideas and diverse viewpoints. Our mission is to foster a greater appreciation of cinema and a deeper understanding of the many people, cultures, and perspectives of our world through regular interaction with great films and filmmakers.

While our 9-day festival is our largest and most visible platform to reach audiences, RiverRun also presents the following year-round screening programs — our classic film series, RiverRun Retro, and the free ITVS Indie Lens Pop-Up Series, in partnership with PBS North Carolina. Our education initiative, Films With Class, presents 5 days of free screenings during the festival to over 1,000 Piedmont Triad area school students annually.

The 28th RiverRun International Film Festival will take place from April 17 – 25, 2026 in Winston-Salem, NC. Check back regularly for news and information about our many year-round film screenings and events, as well as for details about the upcoming Festival.
