RiverRun is pleased to participate in Bookmarks’ Book With Purpose program with an encore screening of AMERICANISH with special guest Iman Zawahry at Marketplace Cinema on August 19 at 8:00 PM.  This entertaining film tells the story of two Pakistani women, career-focused sisters Maryam and Sam, and their fresh-to-the-US cousin Ameera as they navigate the ideas of preserving or abandoning tradition while seeking acceptance in society.

Following the 90-minute film, director Iman Zawahry will join us for a discussion. The screening is free and you can reserve tickets below. Zawahry received RiverRun’s Spark Award in 2022!
