DIRECTOR(S):
Stanley Kubrick CAST:
Peter Sellers SYNOPSIS:
The 4K restoration will be showcased for this presentation of the film in which Peter Sellers scored an Oscar nomination for playing three roles, including the title character, in this political satire unlike any comedy preceding it. Finding humor in Cold War anxiety, the story features a deranged general ordering a pre-emptive nuclear strike on the Soviet Union. Other Oscar nominations included Best Picture, but the subject matter prompted a statement from Columbia Pictures that the film “did not reflect the views of the corporation in any way.”
Special Guest: Renata Jackson.
