A group of millionaire political donors, unable to convince Congress to raise their taxes, turn to an unlikely ally: the working-class residents of Whiteville, North Carolina, population 5,600. Under the leadership of longtime political fundraiser and operative Erica Payne, The Patriotic Millionaires launch a pilot project to pay swing state voters of all political stripes to learn how exactly the economy is rigged against them. Their dream: to inspire a multi-racial coalition of working-class voters to come together to tackle obscene levels of income inequality.
