The Piedmont Triad Film Commission: 30 Years of Recruiting Film Business and the 20th Anniversary of Academy Award-winning “Two Soldiers”
genres:
Film commissions play a vital role in attracting film and television production crews to shoot on location in their respective localities and offer support so that productions can accomplish their work smoothly. We are fortunate to have the Piedmont Triad Film Commission (PTFC) working on behalf of this region, and the organization is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year. The Commission celebrates its anniversary with a special screening of the Academy Award-winning film “Two Soldiers,” a highlight of the commission’s recruitment efforts.
“Two Soldiers” is an American, short drama film based on a 1942 short story by William Faulkner. The film is also celebrating an anniversary, having won the Academy Award for Best Live Action Short 20 years ago in 2004. Following a screening of the film, director Aaron Schneider and producer Andy Sacks will join PTFC Executive Director Rebecca Clark to discuss how the PTFC collaborates with production companies and the community to recruit film business and all the many ways it benefits the region.
