“Willie and Me” is an homage to the legendary country singer Willie Nelson. His songs and deeply meaningful lyrics were the inspiration behind the film’s writing and direction. This road movie is a story about how music can reawaken us to our internal instincts that might have been worn down and forgotten, allowing us to find a rejuvenated trust within ourselves to overcome life’s many obstacles. Willie appears as both himself and one of the film’s characters, and this marks the final screen appearance of Peter Bogdanovich.
