Dead in the Water / Original Body of Pain (short film block)

Synopsis

Dead in the Water exposes the stories, science, and solutions behind the over 2,000 industrial hog and poultry CAFOs (Concentrated Animal Feeding Operations) throughout southeastern North Carolina, many of which threaten the Cape Fear River. 43 min.

Original Body of Pain explores the nature of addiction through portraits of two women trying to escape its clutches, as well as a home health nurse who treats the emerging issue of Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome. 46 min.

Both of the filmmakers in this documentary short duo previously competed in RiverRun’s Pitch Fest competition that takes place each year.
