Synopsis

In late winter along the coast of Maine, millions of baby freshwater eels called “elvers” float up tidal rivers and propel a highly lucrative international seafood trade. Elvers follows an eclectic cast of characters who describe what happened when this small-town fishery exploded into a gold rush and black market.
