Audiences might be a bit skeptical that a film about the national debt could be interesting or–dare we even say it–entertaining. But this is one of those rare films that confounds expectations at every turn. Using clever animations, sophisticated graphics, man-on-the-street interviews, well-timed comic relief and a host of financial experts to walk us through the complexities, documentary filmmaker Patrick Creadon has created an incredible film that comes along at just the right time. In fact, with much of the country focused on the upcoming elections and talk of a recession filling the news, a thoughtful discussion about the country’s financial state of affairs hardly seems out of place.
