Synopsis

Kifaru (winner of the Grand Jury Prize and Audience Awards at Slamdance 2019) follows the lives of two young, Kenyan recruits that join Ol Pejeta Conservancy’s rhino caretaker unit–a small group of rangers that care for and protect Sudan, the last male northern white rhino. The filmmakers were given such incredible access to these men, the conservancy and the animals they protect that audiences are taken on a tremendous visceral journey. Spanning the caretakers first four years on the job, this observational film allows viewers to experience the joys and pitfalls of conservation firsthand and view extinction in real-time.
