Along the ancient Camino de Santiago, or The Way of Saint James, an old pilgrimage route in Europe, sits Maria. Continuing a tradition her mother began more than 30 years prior, Maria sits by the side of the road with a rickety, homemade stall to greet and count the passers-by, inviting them to stop and spend some time with her along their journey. Despite encountering some difficult pilgrims throughout the day, Maria always continues her task.
