In 2015, Hassan Fazili’s documentary Peace in Afghanistan aired on Afghan television and soon after he found out the main subject was assassinated and there was a price on his head.  Fearing for his family’s safety they fled and for years and tried to apply for asylum with no hope.  Traveling, often in secret, through Iran, Turkey, Bulgaria and Serbia, they found themselves in situations of extreme difficulty and fear while seemingly never losing their hope and determination.  Documenting the entire process with the help of only their cell phones, Fazili and his filmmaker wife, have created an incredible portrait of the lengths people will go to save their family.
