Set against the squalor of Great Depression-era Kansas and nostalgically draped in the rich monochrome of black and white, Peter Bogdanovich’s timeless classic Paper Moon features real life father-daughter duo Ryan and Tatum O’Neal as an unlikely team of traveling hucksters caught up in a fly-by-night Bible selling scam.  Thoroughly endearing with a poignant ending along the dusty backroads of Missouri, the film secured Tatum O’Neal an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress, who at age 10 was the youngest Oscar-winner ever in a competitive category.   Following the screening, director Peter Bogdanovich will participate in a discussion about the film and his illustrious career and will be presented with the Festival’s Master of Cinema Award.
