Synopsis

At the age of 84, U.S. Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg has developed a breathtaking legal legacy while becoming an unexpected pop culture icon – aka the Notorious RBG. But, since no definitive Ginsburg biography exists, the unique personal journey of this diminutive, quiet warrior’s rise to the nation’s highest court has been largely unknown – until now. Directors Cohen and West have created a revelatory testament to one of the greatest legal minds of our time, exploring both her exceptional personal life and remarkable career.

The directors were given unparalleled access to Justice Ginsburg and combine personal interviews with Ginsberg herself as well as interviews with friends and family including such powerful women as Nina Totenberg and Gloria Steinem. They even include some lovely images of Ginsburg at home with her family, not to mention covering the pop culture phenomenon Ginsburg has become. All of these incomparable elements combine to create a captivating portrait of the woman Steinem lovingly calls “the closest thing to a superhero I know.”
