A Scientist’s Guide to Living and Dying

Synopsis

A real pregnancy is explored over nine months in this inspired hybrid of fiction and reality, co-directed by and starring UNCSA School of Drama alum Nitzan Mager. A scientist in the midst of groundbreaking research is thrown into free-fall when she becomes pregnant with her late husband’s child and is suddenly confronted by the unknowable–absorbed into a realm of mystical female consciousness both terrifying and transcendent. The story and script, constantly evolving along with the progression of Mager’s pregnancy, gracefully incorporates the fears and discoveries she encountered along the way with deft touches of magical realism.

Co-director, writer and star Nitzan Mager and co-director Shachar Langlev to be in attendance for screenings
