In March of 1990, two thieves gained entrance to the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum in Boston and successfully executed the largest art heist in modern history.  Not a single painting has been recovered.  Stolen is a full exploration of the Gardner theft and the fascinating, disparate characters involved.  Dreyfus includes archival photos and letters written between Gardner and Bernard Berenson, an art buyer in Europe in the early 1900’s who helped assemble the collection. Blythe Danner and Campbell Scott provide narration.
