At the Patongo refugee camp in war-ravaged Northern Uganda, families uprooted by murderous rebels now try to patch together a peaceful existence. But through this darkness, one certain ray of hope shines: for the first time ever, Patongo Primary School has been selected to compete at Uganda’s prestigious national music and dance festival. With a stirring soundtrack and lush cinematography, War/Dance follows the school’s students as they prepare to do musical battle in the nation’s capital. And as Patongo’s schoolkids finally smile, sing, and stamp their feet onstage before a festival crowd of hundreds, these children of war get a chance to become just children once more.
