When Objects Speak: Craft on Film panel

Synopsis

From the iconic lamp in A Christmas Story to Charles Foster Kane’s Rosebud in Citizen Kane, film objects often become cemented in our cultural lexicon. RiverRun is joining forces with Piedmont Craftsmen to explore the process of bringing film objects from the page to the screen, calling on the expertise of writers, directors, set designers, prop makers and craftsmen to contribute their experiences in collaborating on the perfect objects for every scene. How objects are chosen, used and celebrated will be the main topic of discussion.

Guests include William Davis, art director of our opening night film American Animals, as well as UNCSA School of Filmmaking’s Eve Cauley, Mary Ann Zotto and Dale Pollock!
