Films With Class

Films With Class (FWC) is the education outreach program of RiverRun International Film Festival that seeks to educate through film. The program presents free screenings of carefully selected documentaries in classrooms throughout area schools and at the annual Festival each spring.  Since 2005, FWC has screened 62 films for more than 30,000 students at 44 area schools.

RiverRun recognizes the unique and critical role arts education plays in reaching students – in and outside the classroom. We deliver relevant and perspective shaping experiences that enable students to make real world connections – which is a critical aspect of learning in today’s environment.  Students are comfortable with the film genre and it is an art form easily shared with all ages and diverse audiences.

There are two components to Films With Class:

With our unique access to extraordinary film and filmmakers and RiverRun’s reputation of presenting critically regarded films from around the world that wouldn’t otherwise be shown in this area, we are uniquely positioned to deliver an education-enhancing experience.
