RIVERRUN STAFF
Stephanie Nelson has nearly 20 years of marketing experience with household-name brands. She began her career in nonprofit arts organizations, where she was introduced to RiverRun and the energy it brings to the community. After several years on its board, including as Vice Chair, she is stepping in as Interim Executive Director.
Interim Executive Director
Dale is a Pulitzer Prize nominated film journalist, and a seasoned development executive (“Beetlejuice”) and film producer (“Set It Off”). In 1999 he became Dean of the School of Filmmaking at UNCSA. As former executive director of RiverRun, Dale is honored to support his community in shaping the next chapter of the festival.
Interim Artistic Director
Katherine E. White is a nonprofit professional and community builder with nearly 30 years of experience sustaining arts, culture, and civic life in Winston-Salem and the Bay Area. She joins RiverRun believing deeply in film's power to change how people see the world, drawn to the same bold, unsettling, independent storytelling the festival was built on.

From producing short and feature films to programming film festivals, Ben works with artists outside the Hollywood norm, striving for a new freedom in cinematic storytelling and community building. They're excited to bring their values of compassion and curiosity to the Films With Class program for this year's fest.

Eric Self is the Exhibition Coordinator of the Moving Image Archives at the UNC School of the Arts. Eric has also worked behind the scenes for various festivals throughout the years, including the Telluride Film Festival and Sedona International Film Festival as well as being the Exhibition Coordinator at RiverRun for 20 years.

Matt Jones is the Associate Curator of the Moving Image Archives at the UNC School of the Arts. Matt works various roles in festivals throughout the year, including the Telluride Film Festival and MountainFilm as well as being the Technical Director for RiverRun. As one of the longest tenured staff members, Matt has been involved with RiverRun since it originally moved to Winston-Salem!
